One of the most evident connections
between Greek and Egyptian cultures and temples is their use of columns.
But if the Greeks and Egyptians both used columns for decoration,
their philosophy of decorative art is what truly sets them apart.
Generally speaking, Egyptian columns were placed within their temples,
basically beyond the view of outside eyes. In stark contrast, Greek
columns were specifically set outside the temples so that onlookers
could enjoy their stately view. |
