Actually, this page compares shrine contents:
both Egyptians and Hebrews installed "arks" inside
their temple shrines. In fact, the famed Hebrew Ark
of the Covenant bears striking resemblance to early Egyptian arks. This stands to reason,
of course, since the Hebrews spent a long time in Egypt. But it does
help pave the way for further comparisons at a later point.
For now it is enough to note that the very attention to measurement
in the Bible is distinctly Egyptian. As we saw in the pyramid
of Zoser,
as we saw in the Great Pyramid and its component parts (i.e. coffer
and chamber), the Egyptians gave abundant attention to measurement
detail.
We will see this again in connection with Greece and Babylon but it
is important to note its early appearance at the start of recorded
history.
