The section on shrines compared
the similarities between Egyptian and Jewish arks. Yet one thing truly
sets the Hebrew Ark of the Covenant apart from all others: its dimensions.
The Bible is quite specific as to the ark's size and shape:
(L x W x H) 2.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 Hebrew cubits. While not a cube, it is
nonetheless
square on end. And since these plans were "divinely revealed" to
Moses they constituted yet another instance of heavenly plans and what
I call "celestial blueprints". |
